Workshops & Talks

We initiate, support or participate in events, workshops, talks & film screenings that relate to biodiversity conservation, ecosystem protection & regenerative systems design. As part of VERGE in November we are hosting the following workshops & talks:

Artist workshops & talks

Art workshops by the participating artists. Including a workshop for children, botanical art workshop and a field note workshop.

Walkabout

Curator walkabout & introduction of the exhibition, Art for Species project by Janet Botes. Learn about the inspiration behind the project, ideas for the path ahead, and about the  partner organizations.

Learn from local experts

Presentations about local species like the Brenton Blue Butterfly and Knysna Seahorse, and the impact of ghost fishing and the ecological services of trophic cascades in the Knysna Forest. As well as a guided walk in Pledge Nature Reserve with artist and horticulturist Helena Joubert.

What can we do?

How we can help support ecosystems & biodiversity in our daily lives, and in the way we do our farming, gardening or shopping. Sue Swain from Bio-wise will be talking about biomimicry and how we can learn from natural systems and cycles to support our own lives in wonderfully efficient and inspiring ways.
